Your Faith has Healed You

Your faith has healed you

“She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.” Matthew 9:21-22

Sometimes we need just one touch. One touch.

In the past few weeks, I have been reading and studying some of the different valleys in the bible. Many of these valleys surround the battles of the Israelites, their wins and disappointments.

We serve a God who is in control of the valleys and the mountains in our life. Consequently, sometimes when we are sick, we mistakenly think it is a time of storms and valleys.

But, it could be a time for our mountains.

It is all about our perspective. Are we going to use our illness as a crutch and permission to be angry with God, angry about our life, despair over our situation, or do we look for what is good about our situation?

Do we look for the good and the possibilities?

Amongst the crowds, the scorn, and the craziness of her situation, the woman with the issue of blood did not fall into despair. She heard about Jesus and had the faith to be healed.

I can just imagine the struggles she had for years trying to find someone who could heal her. To illustrate, women were secluded from others during their monthly cycle. To continually have this issue for years meant that she would have lived a very lonely lifestyle.

How she would have faced such pain. Hearing of Jesus’ miracles must have been such a balm and ray of hope. Maybe, just maybe, if I just touch the edge of His cloak away from prying eyes, I could be healed. Her actions showed that she didn’t give up. She wanted to believe and have faith. And for her faith, she was rewarded. In her prayers and dreams, I am sure she never envisioned that Jesus would stop for her and approach her.

Reflections

Food for thought: Do you need healing? Not every sickness can be seen on the outside? Maybe it is a healing of the heart. Pray and seek for one touch from God. Finally, if God is silent, then dig deeper. Don’t give up and cry out to God. Get on God’s nerves!

Prayer: Holy God, many of us need just one touch from you. By the blood of the Lamb, we pray for healing. In Jesus name. Amen

May God of love, mercy and grace be with you.

Have you ever been disappointed in God?

Published by godlywoman911

I became a Christian at a young age and baptized at the age of 13. My journey has been bittersweet. A majority of my life I have been a Christian. But not a Godly Woman. After many failures, tears and tribulation I realized that something in my Christian life had to change. No longer can I profess that I am a Christian but don’t show daily that Christ lives in me! No longer can I claim that I am HIS child when my thoughts, actions and deeds were not overflowing with HIS love. No longer could I live the way I was living and not seek him daily in prayer, scripture and worship. As the Lord blessed me with that knowledge I felt him also calling me to write my journey and share my thoughts, learning and mistakes with others. Hence the reason for 911. Not only was it a crises in my life to become a Godly Woman but as I delved into scripture to understand how to be Godly, I realized that we are living in crazy world where the desire to be Godly was no longer important. Many boast that they are a Christian and weekly attend Church, but lack the Godly qualities that Christ seeks in ALL of his followers. My deepest desire is to serve Christ faithfully, obey HIM joyfully, trust HIM always, seek HIM eternally and become his close friend so that I can share in his truth and knowledge. I pray that this blog blesses you and provide you with the strength, courage and wisdom to be a Godly Man or Woman.
