How much do you love Jesus?
“When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.” John 21:15-17
Do you love Jesus? Is your heart where HIS is?
Saul disobeyed God and thought sacrificing and bringing offerings to God was good enough but Samuel noted that God didn’t want sacrifices… He wanted our obedience.
What are we called to do?
Feed HIS Lambs
Take care of HIS Sheeps
Feed HIS Sheeps
Three clear instructions given.
He wants our heart to love what HE loves and do what HE would have done as shown by HIS Son, Jesus.
If you do love him, what changes will you make today? Be more hospitable; seek out people that you can bless by understanding their needs, spending time with the elderly/ orphans/ homeless; studying the word so that you can share with others.
Food for thought: Truly… think… Do you really love Jesus? Pray and seek Christ’s will in how you can be obedient to the call of every believer; feed his lambs, take care and feed his sheep.
Prayer: Father, I want to be obedient. Forgive me for my past of not caring for others, your environment, and animals. Forgive me for not being obedient to your will. I seek your will and guidance – show me Lord how I can glorify your Holy name. Amen
God’s grace, peace and mercy be with you.
