“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” Matt 13:18-23
So which one are you?
You may honestly reflect on this and realize that you may not be where you want to be at this time. That is fine…
My prayer today for you would be:
Lord, as I reflect on your word presented in Matthew 13, open my heart and mind to understand and see where your seeds are currently falling in my heart. Grant me your wisdom so that I can see the ‘evil’ that wants to snatch your word away from me so that I can run and flee like a gazelle. May your seeds not fall on rocky ground for me, that even though I have received your word with joy that I will grow deep roots and be in your word daily which will help keep my roots watered. I don’t want to be captured in the craziness of this world or trapped by riches. Help me Lord, Help me! I want to be fruitful. I want to serve in your kingdom. I want more of you and less of me. Praise, glory and honor to your name. Amen
Food for thought: Spend time reflecting on this word. Seek Christ. Seek HIS glory.
Prayer: Lord, I pray for all that is reading this post. May they be shaken. May they be stirred. May your name be glorified. In Jesus name. Amen
May God’s mercy, grace and peace be with you.
