“The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” Revelation 1:14-17
Now I want you to read that bible verse again and truly picture Jesus.
We see so many images of the depiction of Jesus and they leave us smiling and thinking nice thoughts.
And that isn’t bad but it is those depictions that have created a world that doesn’t let us truly understand the magnitude and gravity of the awesomeness of God.
When we read John’s image in Revelations, it is an open reminder that we serve a Holy God that deserves our reverence in all things.
We have forgotten this by our lack of respect for HIM.
We have forgotten this by the lack of time that we spend in HIS presence.
We have forgotten this by the lack of spiritually driven prayers that we pray (if we even spend the time to pray at all).
We have forgotten this by our willingness to not obey HIS will but follow our own.
We have forgotten this by our need to control all things and not trust God and seek HIM first.
You serve the only true Living God, Elohim, the Great I AM, Rock and Redeemer, Yaweh, the Most High God, Everlasting Father….
Do you not realize who you are serving?
So reflect and ask yourself, “Do I approach God with the reverence and honor that HE deserves?”
If not, change your life today!
Food for thought: Truly, does God ask you for too much? Did HE not send HIS only Son to die for our sins but yet we daily deny HIM by our thoughts, actions and deeds? Get down on your knees right now and beg HIS forgiveness and ask God to change you so that you will give HIM all the glory HE deserves.
Prayer: Father, forgive us for we have forgotten who we serve. Renew and purify us. May our prayers bring you glory and our lives shine your light for the world to see you through us. In Jesus name. Amen
God’s grace, mercy and peace to you.
