Prayer for Protection: When facing the enemy

The Bible offers great examples of different prayers and today we will experience a prayer for protection.
In life you will come against persons who may have more power, wealth, strength and the list can go on and on.
Be reminded that it is only a perception. Christ lives in you.
Call out to him like Asa, one of the kings of Judah, did in this:
Prayer for perfection
“Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said, “ Lord, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. Lord, you are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.””
2 Chronicles 14:11
Asa’s prayer for protection highlighted several things:
- The sovereignty of God “there is no one like HIM”;
- God is the ultimate helper for those who are powerless against the mighty;
- His plea to God and acknowledgement that we rely on God;
- When faced with the enemy we should not be encountering the situation by ourselves, instead, we need to go against the enemy in God’s name;
- We serve God alone and no other;
- And a plea to God to not allow “mere mortals” to win
If you are facing/ or when you face the enemy, think about the way in which Asa spoke to God in his prayer for protection and use his example in your own prayer.
Lastly, God loves you and he has promised to never forsake his people. Therefore, call out to him and he will always answer you… on time.
