Favor

“When you get me, you get favor.”

Sometimes you just need to state it, believe it and walk in it.

When you get me, you get favor

Proverbs 18:22 tells us that, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”

There are many women caught in the desires or pressure to be a wife. Unfortunately, social media has become the biggest resource to teach or showcase how to be a wife.

Culture’s effect on favor

Being a wife who will bring favor to her husband doesn’t start after the wedding. Living a life that is right with God should start way before (if you haven’t already, it is fine. Just start now). Culture has presented a beautiful picture perfect imagery on the must have wedding and #relationshipgoals inspired shots.

Rarely you see wisdom posts on how to be a godly wife as written in the Bible. Sis, beware of what the culture is telling you and showing you about how to be a good wife. Following the culture may cause us to lose favor with God.

Why?

In our singleness our focus should be on pursuing God and getting closer to Him. If we focus on Him, then He will teach us what we need to know to be a godly and virtuous woman. A woman after His own heart.

Spend this time to also dig into God’s Word, pray, fast and study wives in the Bible like Sarah, Ruth, and the Proverbs 31 wife, you will find recurring themes that is different from what the world says. One of the best things is doing a topical study on the word “wife” in the Bible. Make notes, pray over what you are reading. Ask God for help on activating what you learn into your life.

Just be warned, you may be shocked to learn that the wife you see on social media doesn’t always look like the wife that God is calling us to be.

Remember, being a godly wife starts before the relationship and God presenting you to your future husband.

Let us pray

Father, Your daughter is here. You are Alpha and Omega. I worship You, Lord. You are worthy to be praised. Humbly I bow before Your throne. My King, my glory. I bring praises to Your feet. I rejoice in You, Yahweh. I am all Yours. Yours to do as You will. Lord, I surrender to Your will alone. Here I am. Adonai, my life is in Your precious hands. Remove all voices that are speaking into my life trying to teach me how to live right with You. I only want to hear from You. I am Your living sacrifice, willing and waiting to walk in the steps that You have ordained for me. Thank You for the favor that You have blessed upon me. Thank You for the favor that will be passed on to my future husband. It is You, Lord, who bestows favor and honor. We need to be right with You to receive. Thank You that my favor lasts a lifetime. Lord, guide me as I live as You desire, to be a virtuous and godly woman. Everything else will come. It is already done. In Jesus’ name. Amen
