How do I resist temptation? A lesson from Jesus
Weary and tired from a long day of errands, I struggle with putting the key into my front door. Sliding and twisting the lock, I grab the handle and feel my shoulders relax; I am home! Looking down, I pick up my bounty of joy and get my 5-minute snuggle time. It has been a long day.

How to Study the Bible
Our Bible study sessions launched this week, and we began with a series called: How to Study the Bible. The energy, participation and flow from the group was humbling. God is at work, and I am so excited to see their journey over the next few months.

Crisis response – 7 Lessons from Daniel
I have had a burning to write this message on crisis response – 7 lessons from Daniel. I sent an email a few weeks back to my GW911 family, just checking in and asking how they were coping with this pandemic. The response was amazing. Some were rejoicing in God’s goodness; others were leaning on His promises of daily bread, while some vulnerably shared their panic and fear during this time.
After responding to every email received, I felt a desire to search God’s word and identify persons who may have faced a crisis and their response. There is a fantastic example that I thought to share.

Sunday is Coming
As I reflect on the significance of today. The crucifixion of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who was nailed to a cross to die. The pain and anguish He felt. The pain, anguish, and uncertainty felt by those who loved Him. It brings to mind the ‘other’ crises in our life right now.

Prayers to God: Less Fear and More Faith
Woman of God, what trying times we face right now. As I sit isolated in my home from the COVID-19 pandemic that is sweeping across the planet right now, I reflect on a social media post that left me aching.
A woman posted that she lost her job because of COVID-19; she had children to feed and didn’t know how she was going to get through all of this. Someone replied to her post and told her to have faith. She replied, “I am trying hard to have faith, but I am struggling. How do I have faith when all of this is happening to me?”

Why is God not answering my prayer?
The feeling of another headache. This tiredness that just won’t go away. I know what I should do—bake. That always makes me feel a little better, especially if it is one of the family favorites: Pineapple Upside-Down Cake.

Godly Woman Characteristic – Belief (Series)
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that – and shudder.” – James 2:19
Even the demons believe
A few years ago, in my frustrations with my ex-husband, I declared to him James 2:19. You see, he was not a Christian but firmly believed that there is one God. He was a man of the world and my frustrations came about when he said to me, “You see things only in black and white. ‘You are either a Christian or not. You are either going to hell or you are going to heaven.’ I believe that there is a God. I do good things for people. I am as much a Christian as you.”

Why is God silent?
“Why is God silent?” asked my friend. “That isn’t right. God is never silent. Right?”
Chuckling, I explained, “As a little girl, I loved reading the bible stories about men and women who encountered God. Persons whom God spoke to. Growing up as an adult, in my times of great stress and tribulation, I didn’t hear from God. To me, God was very silent. When I reached a breaking point a few years ago, I confronted God as to why He was so silent,”

My heart cries for those families that have experienced loss during this pandemic of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). My friend, you may be feeling fear or anxiety when watching the news. I want to encourage you to put your trust in God (Psalm 56:3). The Word tells us “do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
