World Issues

This world has gone mad! World Issues is skyrocketing.

No… Seriously it has!

Or has it?

Violence, war, terrorism, viruses, natural disasters, political chaos, inequality … You name it!

But my question of reflection is, has it gone mad or are we just now focusing or interested in it?

In the crazy hectic lives that we live, many of us have just kept on going with no care in the world because it is not affecting us personally, or we have the attitude that it is just not any of our business so we stay out of it! It occurred to me today that too many of us are thinking that way and not following the Lord’s instructions to pray for each other. To be compassionate. To give and show love. HIS greatest command is to love.

God is still in control. 2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us that “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

So my friends let us unite in love and for the next 7 days pray for this world and its people.

Prayer for world issues

I will leave you with my prayer:
Gracious and compassionate Father. Divine Healer and Supreme Ruler. Please forgive us Lord for our disregard of your planet, your creation, world issues and your people. Forgive us for having an “it’s not any of my business” attitude. Forgive us for not helping the poor, needy, widow and elderly. When we look down at others we don’t consider our equals because of their job, culture, skin color, religion or background – forgive us. Forgive us Lord for expecting that everyone should be just like us and for not accepting their differences. Teach us Lord unity and love and remind us that we were ALL created in your image. Lord we know that in the midst of chaos you hear our cry. We pray for the families, victims, leaders and yes even the accused in these various acts of violence worldwide. We thank you for those individuals that have chosen to pray and unite in love instead of turning to more violence. Teach us Lord how to be better humans in this beautiful world you have created for us. Teach us Lord love, equality, peace and unity. In Jesus name. Amen
