What does Romans 15:4 mean?
Romans 15:4 reminds us that we have been provided with God’s word to help guide us through life. The devil is busy feeding us lies every day, we need a source of truth. If you are experiencing loss, betrayal, attacks of the enemy, financial issues, burning questions that you need to be answered, then reach for the Word of God. The Bible is the best self-help book ever written. It doesn’t matter the issue that you are facing; the Bible can help. Even though there will be some subject areas or words you won’t find in scripture, you will still find teachings that apply to your situation. Seek the power of the Holy Spirit to guide you as you search and study the gospel of God.
When you study scripture, it gives you hope. The word encourages you and allows you to be patient through all things because you know whose you are and how your God will face all things for you. The more you read God’s word, the more you trust and believe that in your life, “all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. (Romans 8:28)
Pray Scripture
Holy Father, teach me to love Your Word and to keep it hidden in my heart. Forgive me for my lack of trust and dependence on Your scripture to guide how I live. Forgive me for turning to other books and teachings. Thank you for Your grace and infinite wisdom. Your Word provides me with everything that I need to live this life. Lord, as I battle through the storms and battles that will come my way, guide me to Your living word so that I can armour myself. Please give me the strength to be patient and to find hope in Your scriptures. Thank you for Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake Your people. Shelter me under Your mighty wings. In Jesus’ name. Amen
