Preparing for Natural Disasters

Over the past few days, we have experienced a plethora of natural disasters that have left many of us awe struck, terrified, anguished, weeping, sad and even pause.cry out to God.

News reports have been feverishly coming in and we have witnessed:

Fires in many states within the USA;

History breaking flooding in Texas;

Heat waves in Europe and areas of the USA experiencing unprecedented triple digit heat figures;

Earthquakes of great magnitudes in Mexico and Japan with warnings of Tsunami’s;

Monsoons in parts of Asia with massive death tolls;

Floods and mudslides in Africa resulting in many deaths;

And, to top it off a very active Hurricane season.

Hurricane Irma, the longest lived hurricane at a category 5 (for 3 full days) and wind speed topping over 180mph has broken the record as the strongest Hurricane ever.

But, the righteous should not be surprised by what is happening. The Bible has told us to expect an increase in Natural Disasters towards the end of days.

 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.” Luke 21:25-26

“There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” Luke 21:11

“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” Matthew 24:7

As persons and nations aim to prepare for disasters, the focus starts on priorities.

Thoughts of securing homes, stocking up on food, taking care of family etc become top priorities.

While we are so focused on all of the outward preparations, no person or nation in their warnings of preparation has spoken about what our number one priority should be.

Prepare your homes and families… but what about your soul?

#1 Priority @GodlyWoman911

Food for thought: The bible clearly outlines the signs we would see prior to the end of days. Only God knows the last day. But we can be like the foolish virgins and not prepare ourselves or we can be like the wise virgins and rest in peace knowing that even if we were to die in a natural disaster, we will still have everlasting life. Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, do so right now.

Prayer: Abba Father, we pray for all the lives that are affected by the recent natural disasters and those to come. We pray for the souls of the unrighteous that in their preparations, they consider accepting you as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9) their first priority. We are comforted by your words in Isaiah that provide peace to the righteous who trust in you even through disasters. As Paul stated in Romans 8, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Come, Lord Jesus, come. Amen

May God’s mercy, love and peace be with you.

I became a Christian at a young age and baptized at the age of 13. My journey has been bittersweet. A majority of my life I have been a Christian. But not a Godly Woman. After many failures, tears and tribulation I realized that something in my Christian life had to change. No longer can I profess that I am a Christian but don’t show daily that Christ lives in me! No longer can I claim that I am HIS child when my thoughts, actions and deeds were not overflowing with HIS love. No longer could I live the way I was living and not seek him daily in prayer, scripture and worship. As the Lord blessed me with that knowledge I felt him also calling me to write my journey and share my thoughts, learning and mistakes with others. Hence the reason for 911. Not only was it a crises in my life to become a Godly Woman but as I delved into scripture to understand how to be Godly, I realized that we are living in crazy world where the desire to be Godly was no longer important. Many boast that they are a Christian and weekly attend Church, but lack the Godly qualities that Christ seeks in ALL of his followers. My deepest desire is to serve Christ faithfully, obey HIM joyfully, trust HIM always, seek HIM eternally and become his close friend so that I can share in his truth and knowledge. I pray that this blog blesses you and provide you with the strength, courage and wisdom to be a Godly Man or Woman.
