Being a part of…

Life group @godlywoman911I miss my life group.

It is summer.

School is out.

And this usually means that all bible study groups are on a summer break. And I miss my weekly sessions with such an amazing group of women that God has blessed me with.

I don’t take lightly the responsibility that God has graciously given me to teach a group of adult women who continually inspire me to learn more and grow in my relationship with Christ.

Last week as my mind was meditating and I was praying for each of them I started looking for a verse that spoke to me that I could share with the ladies and the Lord led me to this:
“let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:22-25‬ 

As I sent this message to our group What’s app, I inserted the group name in the scripture as I did when I prayed.

I wanted my ladies to remember that even though we are apart for the next few weeks that we never forget to do the following:

1) Continue to draw near to Christ and stay strong in the faith. Study HIS word, pray and continually worship HIM.

2) Sometimes we feel guilty about taking a break, but use the time given wisely to purify and rejuvenate ourselves in Christ.

3) Many of us continue to go through storms and different situations but we are never to forget that we serve the one true God who has promised to never forsake us. Continue to hope in HIM and never give up!

4) As we journey along, continue to check in with each other and pray for one another. Encourage each other.

Food for thought: I encourage you to also adopt the 4 points above. If you are not a part of a group, then join or create a group. Strengthen one another in the faith.

Prayer: For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:14-21)
