Focus on the small steps

The other day I gave my little precious baby a rib bone.

And yes, if you were wondering, my “baby” is a small 6-pound Shorkie with a heart the size of a football field.

Cute Shorkie @GodlyWoman911

He loves bones and this was the first time he ever received a rib bone. This one proved to be a challenge.

Usually, he would chew bones up in minutes, but after one hour he only made a very tiny dent. When we noticed, his ‘big sister’ started laughing at him and telling him that he wasn’t getting anywhere. He should just give up.

Of course, him being a dog he didn’t understand and definitely didn’t give up the bone.

But it provided me with an opportunity to share and provide a lesson for her.

You see, in life, sometimes we will get the easy challenges that will take us a short time to overcome and other times we will get those crazy, insurmountable challenges that may just try our patience.

And it is with those challenges that you may find persons telling you to just give up. You will never make it. You aren’t making a difference.

Even though you may see the tiny difference being made, others might see it differently and think you didn’t make a difference at all. Or as she eloquently put it, “there are just haters out there who just don’t want to see you succeed”.

Don’t give up!

My baby sure didn’t and got his juicy reward in the end.

Food for thought: Keep on taking those small steps until you excel in your challenge. Don’t listen to your detractors. They laughed at Jesus too and thought HE was crazy. Paul encourages us to run our race to the end for that eternal reward.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” Hebrews 12:1

Prayer: Gracious Father, may we be reminded that a person’s wisdom yields patience and it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. When the world tries to push us away from carrying out your mission and Kingdom goals may we seek you for wisdom that you grant abundantly when asked and strength to finish the challenges received. In Jesus name. Amen

May God’s mercy, peace and grace be with you.

I became a Christian at a young age and baptized at the age of 13. My journey has been bittersweet. A majority of my life I have been a Christian. But not a Godly Woman. After many failures, tears and tribulation I realized that something in my Christian life had to change. No longer can I profess that I am a Christian but don’t show daily that Christ lives in me! No longer can I claim that I am HIS child when my thoughts, actions and deeds were not overflowing with HIS love. No longer could I live the way I was living and not seek him daily in prayer, scripture and worship. As the Lord blessed me with that knowledge I felt him also calling me to write my journey and share my thoughts, learning and mistakes with others. Hence the reason for 911. Not only was it a crises in my life to become a Godly Woman but as I delved into scripture to understand how to be Godly, I realized that we are living in crazy world where the desire to be Godly was no longer important. Many boast that they are a Christian and weekly attend Church, but lack the Godly qualities that Christ seeks in ALL of his followers. My deepest desire is to serve Christ faithfully, obey HIM joyfully, trust HIM always, seek HIM eternally and become his close friend so that I can share in his truth and knowledge. I pray that this blog blesses you and provide you with the strength, courage and wisdom to be a Godly Man or Woman.
