The other day my niece and I were listening to a podcast sermon and out of the blue she said: “He is speaking about multitasking”.
“Actually, he isn’t,” I said.
Then I proceeded to provide an example for her that I knew she would understand.
Every day we go about our lives and follow a routine. If that routine changes, or we request for a change and our prayers are answered, we just keep on going. We do not stop to give God the glory. When someone congratulates us or commends us for positive achievements, we rarely ever give God the glory. 
We shouldn’t be doing anything without giving God all the glory. If we can’t honor and give God the glory for all answered prayers and requests why are we surprised when bigger blessings don’t come our way.
Don’t get me wrong. I am also bad in this.
We feel so good about acknowledgment or praise. Or in my case, I am fond of pushing my team to the forefront and acknowledging them within the praise. But I rarely give God all the glory.
After all, I daily pray in my war room for success and God to be glorified but in my thanks to God it should not just be something I do privately but it should be acknowledged publicly as well.
Moses and Aaron fell into this trap as well. Yet again the Israelites we’re complaining. This time for water. Moses and Aaron went before God and HE answered with instructions on how they can prove God’s glory.
Moses followed God’s instructions, but unlike other times where Moses noted that the Lord will provide, he omitted God’s name.
“He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, “Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?” Numbers 20:10
They didn’t give credit to God. Their actions caused them not to enter the land they were promised.
“But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.” Numbers 20:12
That must have been crushing!
Food for thought: Giving God the glory isn’t “multitasking”. It is his right. Our mission in life is to give God all the glory. God blesses us and we don’t give him the credit. We could have a bigger blessing coming down the road for us but we miss it because we didn’t even give the Author, Creator and Perfector of our faith all the credit that he rightly deserved. How many blessings are you missing out on?
Prayer: Holy and Righteous Father, forgive us. This ‘me’ attitude that we love to display is not what your Son taught us when HE walked this earth. In all things, HE gave you the glory. May we live our lives carrying out Jesus mission on earth to give you all the glory, praise and honor for good things you have done and will do. In Jesus name. Amen

Jonah 2:9 “But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord .’ ”
A grateful heart is precious before God.
