When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
We all need encouragement.
Sometimes we get so bogged down and focused on just completing the day or like most of us… we can’t wait for Friday’s! But in all of the craziness we are not sure how we are doing.
Some of the things I went and still going through on my journey are the feelings of inadequacy…
- Not Christ like enough
- Can’t pray like others
- Didn’t go to church every Sunday
- Didn’t read my bible every day
- Missed that opportunity yet again to speak about Jesus
- Others are getting miracles … God are you hearing me?
…. Is it only me? Or have you felt this way sometimes as well?
Sometimes we just love over analyzing, throwing a pity party, or just doubting ourselves.
But God is seeing you. And HE hears you. You are important. Never forget that. He that is least in the kingdom is the greatest.
Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Food for thought: You don’t need to be great for God to recognize you. HE loves you. Whatever you think you are failing at, just give it to God in prayer. God doesn’t find joy when we are depressed, hurting or confused …. HE will never forsake or leave us. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Worship and glorify HIS name. Just don’t give up. You are doing better than you think you are.
Prayer: God of grace and love. May we remember that this race isn’t for the swift but for the steady. Your son walked this earth as an example for which we all should follow. May we continually feel your grace and love as we serve in your kingdom. Amen
God’s grace, mercy and peace be with you.
