How to be prosperous

How to be prosperous - Godly Woman.JPG

Too much bills.

Not enough money.

Lots to do and achieve.

Need more, more, more.

Many today are seeking that magic wand of prosperity.

Solomon was not only granted great wealth and prosperity from God but he was given what his heart truly desired which was wisdom.

Solomon provided insight on how to be prosperous:

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:6-11‬ ‭‬‬

The ant is a work horse. An interesting insect, they have no commander or overseer but they have the capacity to build great things and always scavenging and storing food. Mentioned only twice in the bible and both times in Proverbs, the ant Solomon was referring to was the Harvest ant which was found in Palestine and today can be found in Texas, India, Europe and South America.

The bottom line is that in order to be prosperous:

  • We can’t be lazy
  • We need to be forward minded thinkers and plan ahead
  • Use the intellect God has blessed us with

And in my mind, prosperity comes in so much different forms. I consider myself to be amazingly prosperous because:

  • I have life
  • I have good health and a sound mind
  • I am able to work and provide for my home
  • I have loved and I am loved
  • I have peace (and when the storms of life comes I have faith and know that God will see me through it)

I am blessed!

I won’t ask for anymore but just give thanks for all that has been given to me.

Thought: Are you seeking that sweet elixir for prosperity? Are you expecting it by winning the lottery or are you working hard to achieve it? The bible tells us that in all things give thanks. Give thanks.

Prayer: Father, hallowed be thy name. Your word reminds us that to whom much is given much is required. Forgive us our attitudes of wanting more and more. Teach us Lord to thank you in all things. In Jesus name. Amen

I became a Christian at a young age and baptized at the age of 13. My journey has been bittersweet. A majority of my life I have been a Christian. But not a Godly Woman. After many failures, tears and tribulation I realized that something in my Christian life had to change. No longer can I profess that I am a Christian but don’t show daily that Christ lives in me! No longer can I claim that I am HIS child when my thoughts, actions and deeds were not overflowing with HIS love. No longer could I live the way I was living and not seek him daily in prayer, scripture and worship. As the Lord blessed me with that knowledge I felt him also calling me to write my journey and share my thoughts, learning and mistakes with others. Hence the reason for 911. Not only was it a crises in my life to become a Godly Woman but as I delved into scripture to understand how to be Godly, I realized that we are living in crazy world where the desire to be Godly was no longer important. Many boast that they are a Christian and weekly attend Church, but lack the Godly qualities that Christ seeks in ALL of his followers. My deepest desire is to serve Christ faithfully, obey HIM joyfully, trust HIM always, seek HIM eternally and become his close friend so that I can share in his truth and knowledge. I pray that this blog blesses you and provide you with the strength, courage and wisdom to be a Godly Man or Woman.
