How to hear God every day

Hearing from God daily - @Godlywoman911Every day the spirit of God speaks to me.

That was never the case before.

So what changed? Here are the top 3 things that I changed in my life:

Total Surrender
I had to stop doing things my way. I gave God control sometimes. And usually that was the times when things were so bad that I had no choice but to hand it over to HIM. I am a very logical person but it took me years to figure out: Why wait until things have gotten so bad?

Paul’s word in Galatians 2:20 helped me do that, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,who loved me and gave himself for me.”

I needed HIM to take over control for my entire life!

Daily Seeking HIM
God is #1 in my life. It took me a very long time to get to this point but thanking my God for HIS grace and mercy in staying with me until I got here.

Because HE is important to me I want to be in HIS presence daily. I want to hear what he has to say in HIS word and I want to talk with HIM (or several times throughout the day).

You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

– Psalm 63:1

I seek HIM every single day. We have to be diligently seeking him.

Discipline is key. I can’t say that I love God and not be disciplined in seeking HIM daily. For me that includes putting an alarm on my phone to pray five (5) times a day. That doesn’t include the in between when I have to pray on the spot for guidance on a conversation, situation or answer. My life is full of meetings and always on the go. I get so caught up in things that seeking Christ during my work day was put on the back burner. I knew that to change that I needed an alarm. I schedule alarms for meetings, tasks and other things… why not for my time with Christ!

I am disciplined in waking up each morning reading HIS word. I hated waking up early, but now before my eyes are even open, my consciousness wakes me up in prayer. As I walk to my inner room (prayer room) I am in a state of prayer and worship.

I am disciplined in fasting. Again fasting doesn’t come easy for me, but I have seen the amazing results from it which includes me growing deeper in my relationship with Christ.

The thing with Discipline is that it doesn’t matter how you do it… just do it.

Hebrews 12:11 reminds us that “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”

I want to be a woman of God who pleases him and brings joy to God’s heart.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Food for thought: We have to be living and talking like Jesus did. Is people seeing Jesus in us? “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.” 1 Chronicles 16:11 We have to conform to him.

Prayer: Abba Father, how sweet it is to hear you daily. How much joy it is to seek your face and read your word. May we bring joy to you in our surrender, diligence and discipline. In Jesus name. Amen
