Trust in the Lord
A recent situation within my community spurred me to call the mother of a teenage boy who acted in a manner that concerned me greatly. In speaking with her and retelling the story of what took place, the mother exclaimed her frustration with everyone.
After allowing her time to vent, I quietly asked her “Well did you go to Jesus?”
Exhaling heavily, she said “No, no I did not.”
I reminded her that we should always seek God first and be careful at how we try to reach out to humans for help. We will be disappointed every single time! We need to trust in the Lord.
““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”” Jeremiah 17:7-8
To conclude, I also reminded her that she needed to stop blaming others, her son, family and even herself for all the problems she is going through… She wasn’t blaming the right person!
Reflection
Thought: Who are you blaming for your troubles? Read my post, it is time you go to War! Be careful that you do seek Christ first in all things.
Prayer: Abba Father, your word tells us that the evil one has come to steal, kill and destroy. Forgive us when we choose to seek help first from others instead of going straight to you. Lord help us to trust in you alone so that we are like trees planted in water, flourishing and producing good fruit in season. In Jesus name. Amen
